Samantha accepts briefs to appear in criminal, regulatory and quasi-criminal matters across all metropolitan and regional courts in Victoria. She is an experienced advocate and appears in a broad range of indictable and summary matters.
She has extensive experience appearing in contested bail applications, summary hearings, pleas and committal hearings whilst regularly maintaining carriage as matters progress through the higher courts. Since coming to the Bar, Samantha has also developed a practice in the County Court’s original and appellate jurisdictions.
Samantha has a particular interest in the Children's Court and has appeared in the criminal division regularly. She is well versed in the doctrine of doli incapax and the Victoria Police youth policy. She also has experience representing Drug and Alcohol Treatment Order participants, and has extensive experience appearing in screening, sentencing and cancellation hearings.
Prior to coming to the bar Samantha spent time working at Shepparton Victoria Legal Aid, and also served as a Senior Lawyer within Victoria Police.
