Criminal law
Jack has a broad criminal practice. He appears both led and unled in the Court of Appeal, Supreme Court, County Court and the Magistrates’ Court. He has experience in matters including homicide, serious driving offences, commercial drug trafficking, Federal offences, and historical sexual offending. Jack also appears in matters arising out of criminal proceedings such as Judicial Review and Asset Confiscation matters. He is a member of the Criminal Bar Association.
Sports law
Jack advises and appears for athletes, coaches, officials, administrators, parents and sporting bodies from various sporting codes before disciplinary and appeals tribunals including VCAT and the NST. Jack is a member of the National Sports Tribunal Legal Assistance Panel, and the Australian and New Zealand Sports Law Association.
Regulatory law
Jack appears both for and against regulatory authorities including local councils, Work Safe, and the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator. He also appears in professional misconduct and licensing matters before various boards and tribunals, as well as assisting workplace investigations for bullying, discrimination and harassment.
Prior experience & education
Jack holds a Master of Laws (LLM) from Monash University. His studies focussed on advanced and expert evidence; and humanitarian, corporate, and international criminal law, and Privacy and FOI law.
Before joining the Bar, Jack was a Judges’ Associate in the criminal division of the County Court of Victoria; firstly, to His Honour Judge C Ryan and then Justin Hannebery KC.
